Position Summary
The Imaging Services Supervisor is responsible for coordinating and supervising daily operations within the MRI and CT departments. This includes oversight of personnel, quality assurance, patient care, workflow efficiency, and regulatory compliance. The supervisor ensures adherence to radiology standards, supports productivity goals, identifies and resolves operational issues, and contributes to annual strategic planning.
This role assists with budget preparation, monitors expenditures, and serves as a resource for other hospitals, sites, and departments. The supervisor provides advanced clinical support to patients, families, and staff, and collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive, cost?effective care.
Knowledge and Skills
Strong supervisory and team leadership skills, including coaching, engagement and staff development
Knowledge of OSHA, DOT, EPA, DNREC and JCAHO regulations
Understanding of patient safety protocols, infection control, radiation safety and quality control
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to prioritize, plan, organize and evaluate patient and departmental needs
Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities and use sound judgment
Effective negotiation and conflict resolution skills
Proficiency with computer programs used for documentation and record keeping
Demonstrates independent judgment and critical thinking
Maintains quality and efficiency while transitioning between tasks
Treats patients, families and team members with dignity and respect
Physical and Mental Requirements
High levels of mental and visual concentration
Frequent standing and walking
Regular lifting of up to 20 pounds and assisting with heavier tasks
Occasional bending, stooping and repetitive motions
Key Responsibilities
Promote and support teamwork across the radiology department and hospital
Maintain adequate supplies and inventory in collaboration with Purchasing, Central Distribution and vendors
Assist the manager or director with work review and consult with radiologists as needed
Identify and resolve issues affecting test performance or reporting
Orient and train new radiology employees
Train, teach and supervise radiology students during clinical rotations
Ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety standards
Support continuous improvement efforts and monitor departmental outcomes
Qualifications
Current licensure through ARRT, ARDMS, or NMTCB
Bachelor’s degree required within 5 years of hire or equivalent experience at time of hire
