The Public Health Medical Assistant and Clinic Outreach Coordinator is responsible for supporting both clinical and community outreach programming. The incumbent will work as a paraprofessional performing delegated patient care functions under the clinical direction of a Physician, Nurse Practitioner, or Registered Nurse. The position will work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary clinic team; perform administrative support duties; conduct preventative healthcare education and outreach activities; research various topics and information; and are expected to regularly adapt their roles/tasks to maximize clinic efficiency and flow. They will foster and maintain strong relationships with internal and external partners and provide coordination with other programs and departments around outreach events and program(s) communication needs. They are responsible for ensuring deliverables and activities are completed within an appropriate time and at a sufficient quality. The coordinator helps to expand the efficiency, effectiveness, and community awareness and uptake of program areas.
Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge, skills and abilities for this position would be:
Education and Experience: Fluency in written and spoken Spanish and English languages required Bachelor’s degree in public health, psychology, sociology or nursing and three years of healthcare, public health, behavioral health, communications or related experience. OR An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation.
Licenses and Certifications: Valid Driver's License required Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification with AED training required Medical Assistant Certification preferred Certification for Medical Interpretation preferred
