The Cuyahoga County Board of Health (CCBH) is seeking full?time Public Health Nurses (PHN) to begin on or after April 20, 2026. This role provides high?quality health services through clinical care, case management, health education, emergency response, and community outreach within Cuyahoga County. PHNs deliver assessments, screenings, vaccinations, counseling, and referrals in clinic, school, and home settings while maintaining accurate documentation and compliance with public health standards.
Key responsibilities include health education, disease prevention, care coordination, and home visitation. Program focus areas may include Complex Medical Help, Clinic Services, and Newborn Home Visiting.
Minimum qualifications: Associate’s degree in nursing, valid Ohio RN license, CPR certification, one year of related experience, and valid driver’s license/insurance.

• Associate's degree in nursing. • Valid state of Ohio Registered Nurse license; current CPR certification. • Minimum of one year of related experience. • Valid driver's license and insurance at the time of appointment. • Ability to efficiently multi-task on a daily basis. • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and ability to preserve confidentiality of protected student health information and school records. • Strong customer service, verbal and written communication skills, and effective presentation skills. Good interpersonal relationship skills including cultural sensitivity & competence. • Proficiency with use of PC hardware & basic software (i.e. Microsoft office), email, and office equipment (i.e., copier, fax, scanner, telephone, etc.). • Proficiency with use of databases. Proficiency with querying and reporting data. • Ability to use logic and reason to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
