Southwest Care Center is currently seeking an experienced full-time Primary Care Physician. This position supports the Santa Fe Clinics; therefore, candidate must reside in the local market area of Albuquerque or Santa Fe, New Mexico.
Position Details:
Reporting to the Chief Medical Officer, the Primary Care Physician is responsible for providing comprehensive medical care to Southwest Care Center patients. Working both independently and collaboratively with members of the SCC interdisciplinary team, this position uses strong diagnostic, assessment, and treatment skills along with excellent communication and interpersonal skill to ensure quality care and positive outcomes for patients.
This position will model professionalism, meet expected performance levels, demonstrate the values of the organization, and most importantly provide patient?focused services. This role will serve as a leader to clinic team members and uses good judgment, initiative, critical?thinking, and effective communication at all times.
Position responsibilities include but not limited to:
Assist the Chief Medical Officer in overseeing clinical operations and ensuring adherence to organizational policies, procedures, and standards of care.
Support supervision and performance management of provider staff, including conducting chart reviews, clinical audits, and providing constructive feedback.
Collaborate with the Chief Medical Officer to ensure provider compliance with regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and quality metrics.
Participate in recruitment, onboarding, credentialing, and evaluation of provider staff in coordination with the Chief Medical Officer.
Serve as a clinical resource and mentor to provider staff, promoting evidence-based practices and high-quality patient care.
Assist in resolving clinical concerns, provider conflicts, and patient care issues in a timely and professional manner.
Monitor provider productivity and performance benchmarks, reporting trends and recommendations to the Chief Medical Officer.
Support implementation of clinical protocols, workflows, and quality improvement initiatives directed by the Chief Medical Officer.
Participate in leadership meetings and contribute to strategic planning related to clinical services and provider operations.
Ensure effective communication between provider staff and executive leadership, including relaying updates, expectations, and organizational goals.
Assist in the development and review of clinical policies, procedures, and best practice guidelines.
Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement among provider staff.

Practice Highlights:
Monday - Friday 8-5 typical schedule with 32 hours of scheduled patient care and 8 hours of administrative time per week.
Limited call rotation may be required outside of typical schedule.
System-wide Athena EMR.
Onsite care team includes Physicians, NPs, Physician Assistants, Clinical Pharmacists, Behavioral Health Clinicians, Case Managers, RNs and RN Clinic Managers, Medical Assistants, Pharmacists, Health Educators, Registered Dietician.

Candidate Highlights:
Experience: Post-residency experience with 3+ years preferred in a primary care setting
Education: Degree from an Accredited Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) program along completion of residency program(s).
License/Certification: Valid, unencumbered license to Practice Medicine in the State of New Mexico, Board Certified in Family Practice, Internal Medicine. DEA registration.
