About Town of North Haven/North Haven Medical Clinic
The Town of North Haven is a small, beautiful, remote island community located in Penobscot Bay, Maine. Accessible by ferry and plane, the island faces unique challenges common to rural coastal communities, including limited access to healthcare services and an aging population.
The Town operates a municipally run medical clinic located at 135 Main Street, which serves as the primary healthcare provider for year-round and seasonal residents. The clinic offers essential primary care services and works closely with local emergency medical services (EMS) to support urgent and emergent care needs.
As a rural health provider, the clinic plays a critical role in ensuring access to care for a geographically isolated population. With a significant portion of residents being older adults, the demand for consistent, reliable, and locally available healthcare services is especially important to the overall wellbeing and sustainability of the community.
