Nation's Infusion at Home is seeking a full-time, exempt Pharmacy Manager in our Owings Mills, MD office!
The Manager supports the day-to-day operations, ensuring clinical excellence and driving operational efficiencies across the infusion pharmacy. This critical role optimizes workflows, implements Lean Six Sigma principles, enhances patient outcomes, and supports business growth, while also serving as a mentor to pharmacists and technicians, developing clinical programs, engaging referral sources, and contributing to strategic initiatives.
The typical schedule will beon-siteMonday-Friday, 8:30 AM - 5 PM with a minimal rotating on-call schedule that includes weekends.
Essential Duties:
Leadership & Staff Development
Provide leadership coverage when needed.
Supervise Clinical and Production Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians, and Delivery Drivers.
Mentor, coach, and precept pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to support professional development and performance excellence.
Collaborate on scheduling, coverage, and on-call rotations to ensure smooth operations.
Foster a high-performance team culture rooted in collaboration, patient-centered care, and continuous improvement.
Pharmacy Operations & Efficiency
Oversee day-to-day pharmacy operations to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient workflows.
Be able to cross-cover for production or clinical infusion pharmacist roles.
Implement Lean Six Sigma principles to improve operational efficiency and reduce waste.
Manage and optimize procurement, inventory control, and cost-containment strategies.
Maintain and refine pharmacy SOPs, compounding workflows, and delivery logistics to maximize efficiency and accuracy.
Serve as an escalation point for complex operational or clinical challenges.
Clinical Expertise & Program Development
Support clinical pharmacists in the assessment, development, and management of individualized patient care plans.
Collaborate with healthcare providers, referral sources, and care teams to ensure optimal infusion therapy outcomes.
Develop and implement new clinical programs and protocols to enhance patient care and differentiate services.
Provide education and counseling to patients, caregivers, and staff on infusion therapies, equipment, and medication use.
Lead initiatives to identify, track, and act upon clinical quality metrics.
System Implementations & Technology Integration
Act as the pharmacy lead for new software implementations, upgrades, and technology rollouts.
Serve as the liaison between pharmacy staff, IT, and leadership to ensure seamless integration of new tools and workflows.
Develop and deliver training programs to drive staff adoption and proficiency.
Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and identify opportunities for ongoing optimization.
Regulatory Compliance & Quality Assurance
Partner with Pharmacy Leadership to ensure compliance with state, federal, and accreditation standards
Support quality improvement initiatives, incident reporting, and medication error prevention programs.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory changes and translate requirements into operational best practices.
Strategic Planning & KPI Management
Collaborate with leadership to define pharmacy goals and growth strategies aligned with organizational objectives.
Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), including both leading and lagging metrics.
Provide regular reporting and recommendations on operational performance, clinical outcomes, and budgetary impact.
Support budget planning, forecasting, and resource allocation.
Collaboration & Strategic Alignment
Collaborate with the Pharmacy leaders and executive leadership to establish pharmacy goals and align operations with company objectives.
Provide updates and feedback on system performance, operational improvements, and staff development
Support strategic planning related to growth, compliance, and technology adoption

Required skills/experience/qualifications:
At least five (5) years of relevant experience, preferably in a home infusion environment
Strong knowledge base in sterile IV admixture procedures, medication therapy management, and home infusion services
Competent in the use of pharmacokinetic principles & formulas and assessing patient laboratory values.
Ability to problem solve and work capably under stress
Experience with procurement and inventory management of medications
Ability to lead and supervise staff
Proficient with software including, but limited to, O365 and EMR systems, and in technology solutions for system enhancements
Excellent problem solving, organization, and communication skills
Ability to exercise sound independent judgment
Knowledge of Performance Improvement Principles and Practices
Current Maryland Pharmacist license in good standing and the ability to maintain required licensure; ability to receive a DC Pharmacist license.
Understanding of regulatory and accreditation requirements
